Special Features

Welcome to the special features section. Here, we will host special features when ever we feel like it. These would include certain fanart, stories, or news that seemed interesting to us.

July 14, 2003

Recently, fanfics have been spilling in torrents into the AFP mailbox (well, compared to everything else we get). I was pondering to myself whether or not to get rid of completely the fanart section, which has remained dormant for quite a while, and the brand new Fanpoetry section, making the site basically a fanfic site.

Several reasons led me to think of this. One, the fanart section hasn't had anything submitted to it in a long time, and seems as if fanart is no longer popular. The fan poetry section, which has only been open for about a month, would not close as easily, but it still seems rather unpopular.

Another reason is this site is not a very heavily visited site, bringing into sight the fact that we AFP may not need to be as big as it is.

It is a hard decision for me to make on my own, so this is sort of a closed poll. I won't hold an official poll because you can't state ideas/opinions. So, email the Site Address and give me your take on things.

We recently interviewed G.S., the author who currently holds the most submissions on our site. Well, here's what he had to say to our questions:

How often do you write and draw?
Probably about three times a week.

How old are you?
I am 14 1/2 years old.

What is you favorite Anime/Anime character?
I don't have a favorite Anime...they're all awesome, but my favorite character would have to be Vegeta from Dragonball Z. Big suprise there, huh?

What are you currently working on?
I am now writing the second part of A Dark Summer which should be finished soon. I'm sending all finished chapters in at once.

Do you plan on writing any more stories or drawing more fanart?
I'm definitely going to keep writing, but my drawing skillz aren't as mad as I'd like them to be.

How Long have you been an Anime Fan?
I have been watching Anime for a long time, but I really started getting into it when I was about 10.

Which, in your opinion, is a better story: A New Prince, or A Dark Summer?
Both of these stories are unique in their own ways. For example, A New Prince was my first story, so it is special to me. But, A Dark Summer has a better story line to it, and it is more violent. So, to put it more simply, I like them both the same.

You can read the two stories written by G.S. in the Fanfic section any time you want.

This is a picture drawn by a disgruntled Anime fan who has sore feelings toward our site. We kept it anonymous just in respect for the "person."

Now, Greku looks right, except he doesn't weigh 75 pounds. I'm sorry to say I don't look like an over-inflated chucky from rugrats and, personally, I can't stand potato chips. It is still good to have a laugh every now and then.

I just felt like showing this picture because I found it interesting. It appears during the end song of Outlaw Star for about half the season. I don't know why, but this one always caught my attention. The picture is by Hikaru Tanaka, and the picture is from Julie's Outlaw Star Page.

Many of you may be wondering, "What is happening to all the good DBZ sites?" The answer is out there somewhere, my friends. Great sites such as "Ginga Giri Giri" and "Planet Namek" have just up and disappeared. They say it is lack of time, expenses and motivation to go on. There are only two great DBZ sites that remain. (That we know of anyways.) One of them is in the review section as The Ultimate DBZ Site. The other one will be found in the review section next week.

Why is it we are so concerned with DBZ sites? No more than the fact that it is one of the logest, if not, the longest, Anime series running, and also, in our opinion, the most popular.

Though these sites disappear in time, others are made. Keep searching. The legacy of the DBZ internet community will always live on.
